E-mails are often directed to me from citizens who stumbled across this site and because of the type of information contained on it, believe it is the next to last source to resolve a search for someone or something they are desperately seeking. When I can, I lend assistance, but I want to begin sharing some of them with you in the hopes that someone else who reads this might have the information needed.
Posted 1.19.08 My uncle Donald Sprague Simons joined at 18, was only in Saipan 6 months when he was killed, at 18. First they buried him in Guam then later flew him home to Artesia to be buried beside his mom and dad. I'm also looking for info on my stepdad, John Simons, uncle Donald's big brother, who was in the army, and trained at Ft. Bliss, Ft. Benning, Camp Robinson, Camp McClain, went to Boston, to England, then to Normandy. He wasn't in the Invasion, was sent to Omaha Beach and wounded there. My stepdaddy is 85, now, and hoping someone will remember him and write to me. Oh, also he played the tuba in the army. Says they didn't need a tuba player in Normandy. Lucky for the family, I believe.

FIRST OFF I WANT TO SAY I LOVE YOUR SITE. I COULDN'T BELIEVE ALL THE INFO I FOUND THERE. THANK YOU FOR MAKING IT SO USER
FRIENDLY I AM LOOKING FOR MY BIRTH FATHER AND I HAVE VERY LIMITED INFORMATION.

I KNOW HIS FIRST NAME - PAUL HE WAS FROM
PENNSYLVANIA WHICH MEANS HE PROBABLY WENT TO BOOT CAMP AT PARRIS ISLAND. HE
WAS 21 YEARS OLD IN 1955-56. HE WAS IN SAN DIEGO AT THE END OF 1955 AND
SHIPPED OUT IN THE BEGINNING OF 1956 I AM GOING THROUGH ALL THE NAMES YOU
LISTED OF THE PLATOONS DURING THE EARLY 50'S AND EMAILING EACH ONE FOR ANY
  INFO THEY MIGHT REMEMBER.

IT HAS BEEN SO LONG THOUGH. MY FATHER WOULD BE 70
NOW.I PRAY I GET TO MEET HIM BEFORE I TURN 50, WHICH IS NEXT YEAR. IF YOU HAVE
ANY SUGGESTIONS OF WHERE ELSE I COULD GET INFO I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT.

I WISH I COULD PUNCH IN HIS FIRST NAME AND STATE
AND GET A LIST OF ALL THE PAULS FROM PENN IN THE EARLY 50'S THAT WENT TO BOOT
CAMP AT PARRIS ISLAND, BUT I GUESS IT JUST ISNT THAT SIMPLE. I AM WILLING TO
CALL EVERY NAME IN EVERY PHONE BOOK IN THE U.S. IF THAT IS WHAT IT TOOK TO
FIND HIM. I AM PROUD THAT HE WAS (AND ALWAYS IS) A MARINE. AND THAT I AM THE
  DAUGHTER OF A MARINE.

THANKS AGAIN FOR HAVING SUCH A GREAT SITE. I
LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU

  GOD BLESS

Wanted to send
a quick e-mail to see if there was any info you may know of that could help me. I was born in
san Diego in Sept of 1970 and all I know of my father is that he was 19 yrs old.
His name is Marty Collins (pretty common) and a Pvt. in the Marines stationed  I
think at Camp Pendleton at the time and from Gary in. at one time. I wrote the
military and they had given me his discharge date and social security number
(that was a shocker) but that was over 15 years ago and have since misplaced
that info and have not been able to get it from them since. I have tried several
avenues; I am registered on the leathernecks website,
several find people web sites etc with no results. You may not be the
person who knows or cares for that matter but I have to try. I firmly believe
the reason I no nothing of him is due to my mother and I would at least like to
give him a chance to know me and his grandsons. Tammy Timmons Birch Telecon Field Operations TTimmons@birch.com 816-300-4590 866-236-0752 ext 4590

I am looking for information on Cpl
Ronald L Beuster USMC. I found your website and the pictures of
platoons. I noticed that you do not have his. I know this because it is
hanging on my wall.  It is Platoon 161 San Diego Ca 1960.  How
would I go about having it on your site?

Like I said I am looking for information/buddy
of his, any help would be appreciated.  I'm not sure where to start.

Greetings: My name is Joseph Madagan, and I volunteer at Marines-Together We Served website for Marines only. While reading your post on myplatoon.5u searching for CPL Beuster, I thought I would pass along some information to you about this Marine. He was killed March 4, 1966 in Quang Tin Vietnam. He was born in 1942 in the State of Illinois. See Vietnam Wall Panel 04E 136 Semper Fidelis, Hope this is useful. I
ran across your site while trying to figure out a way to get a hold of
photos of my Dad.  He joined the USMC in 1970.  He became a DI in
1976 until 1978 when he discharged.  He was a DI at PISC.  Not
sure if this is accurate or helpful in any way but, I believe he trained the
1st Recruit Training Battalion, Recruit Training Regiment, PISC.
If there is anyway you can find me something that has my Dads photo in it I
would be so grateful.  Please let me know if there is anything else
that I could send you.  Oh, he was Sergeant Steven Wayne
    Douglas.
